Oh Bryan in Austin, Texas...how much do I [lust after] thee? Let me count the ways:

OK but seriously...A few weeks ago I ran across the site (ChaosInAustin.com) of a fellow webcammer named Bryan (or "Bry" as he sometimes goes by). Bryan's good looks and Texan-ish persona (what with my predisposition towards Texans - where I was born and raised) quickly made his live cam a regular on my desktop whenever I was at my computer. I soon learned he was watching me refularly as well. After a few weeks of shooting emails back and forth, Bryan and I found ourselves "flirting" with each other on a regular basis. We've never spoken on the phone or chatted, and our emailed conversations have been pretty delayed (one email left, responded to the next day, then back again, etc...etc...).  We definitely are interested in each other, we just need some real quality time together to "really get to know one another". Why just look at some of these near-identical cam shots to see how much we have in common:

Since I'm all the way up in New York City  and Bryan is all the way down in Austin...we have decided to finally have our first date by live webcam and live chat only. It will be a normal awkward, exciting, exhilarating first date by anyone's standards; It will consist of a nice romantic candle-lit dinner (probably take out Chinese or maybe sushi for me), lots of conversation and banter, Bryan and I asking each other all kinds of questions, feeling each other out...you know  the drill. Except that Bryan will have his own table and food in Austin, and I will have my own table and food in New York. Out respective cams and monitors will be sitting across from us in our own locations, and we will be chatting live with one another...so it will be like we are right in the same room! Uh-huh! This will be a  Danielle Steele/William Gibson romantic rendezvous that will fall somewhere on the line between Andy Kaufman and Bernadette Peters in "Heartbeeps" and...oh I don't know...Juile Christie and the evil computer in "The Demon Seed".  Who knows WHAT will transpire over the course of the evening (I have asked Michael to be out of the loft for the night - hee hee). We have never spoken by telephone and have only shot emails back and forth so this is the first time we will actually have a "conversation". Bryan and I are interested in each other and I must say I am looking forward to the event (and am a little nervous).

We will probably each spend a few hours (all day? all week?)  the day of the event preparing for our date on cam. During the date we will look into each other's "eyes" via webcams (mine will change to a 30 sec refresh rate for the date - his will stay at whatever it is now - 20?) and will communicate by chat .

We want you all to be there!

Any and all are welcome to watch us both and join in the chat!  Yes, join in. The idea of a live chat is something new  to viewers of mine (and that I would love to install it on my site somewhere soon) so this will be a first time for regulars on my site to converse with one another live as well. The chat room we use will be the chat room already in Bryan's site. Bryan is "tweaking" the chat to allow he and I to "ignore" all the other people in the room and only be able to read each other's messages. However everyone else in the room will be able to see what we are saying to each other AND will be able to talk back and forth amongst one another as well. In Bryan's words: "the idea for the chat room is for us to set ourselves to ignore everyone..then we would not see what anyone else is saying..but they could all come and go and chat..they would see our convo..and their own convos..." Bryan and I will only be able to see what we are saying to each other, and everyone else will be able to see Bryan and I's conversation, plus everybody else's in the room, and communicate with each other. We thought this would be best, and who knows - we may open the room up at some point and join in with everyone else. Who knows what will transpire!
 

I'm actually a little nervous (I hope lots of my viewers come out to lend some support - I need it!) I don't know what I'm going to wear and what I'm going to talk about, I don't know if I should even bother straightening up my bedroom! Ah...erm, anyway... Ahhhh...the thrill of a first date! Bryan and I are going all out because we want it to be really special. We don't know if this has been done before (it probably has) but it's new  to us.
