A stereophonic record

Inscriptions in the Virgin UK version vinyl: a) "AFTER CHOPIN"  b) "BREEZES BLOWING THROUGH CURTAINS"

Description: 7" version of "Money" simply fades out after 2:31. B-side: "Money B" is the second half of song that appears on the album, but is indeed different from the album version - it has some added samples and panning effects, and a loud ray-gun sound that closes out the song. Also, what in the world is going on in that photograph on the front cover anyway!?

Availability: Out of print collector's item. Pretty easy to find, especially on the web.

        - there is probably a UK version of this 12"EP, but I do not have the information

    Side A
      01) Money  [6:13, vocal]  [Barry Gordy Jr. / Janie Bradford]
    Side B
      02) Summertime Blues  [5:05, vocal]  [E. Cochran / J. Capeheart]

A stereophonic record

Description:Long versions of songs are indeed different than album versions. The second half of this version of "Money" has some added samples and panning effects towards the end (and goes on longer), plus has a loud ray-gun sound that closes out the song. The second half of "Summertime Blues" adds a primitive, cut-up, start/stop track "re-mix" with heavy echo and vocal back masking at the end. These versions are identical to the two previous 7" versions (that were cut into two halves, on side A and B respectively). Same cover art as 7", just larger.

Availability: Out of print collector's item. Fairly easy to find, especially on the web.

Money / Money B
    7" single (Japanese pressing)
(Japan) 1979(?) Virgin Records, Inc. (VIRG 1014/VIP-2813) - Produced by David Cunningham

    Side A
      01) Money  [2:30]  [Barry Gordy Jr. / Janie Bradford]
    Side B
      02) Money B (instrumental) [4:07]  [Barry Gordy Jr. / Janie Bradford]

Description:This unique Japanese 7" of "Money" comes in a plain sleeve with a two sided color insert. The photo on the cover is probably the most famous early Lizards press photo - it's everywhere. Back of insert has the lyrics (in English) and some commentary about the group and song (in Japanese) from someone named Zoo. B-side: "Money B (instrumental)" is identical to the UK/US 7" "Money B".

Availability:Out of print collector's item. Very hard to find.

Money / Money B / Summertime Blues
    12" single
    (Germany) 1979, Virgin Records (Germany) (600 131-213)

    Side A
      01) Money / Money B  [6:13, vocal]  [Barry Gordy Jr. / Janie Bradford]
    Side B
      02) Summertime Blues  [2:57, vocal]  [E. Cochran / J. Capeheart]

Description: Odd German 12" of "Money" and "Money B" with quirky cover, translates as "Money; Money" on front (confused with the song 'Mony Mony'?) with single version of "Summertime Blues" on the b-side.

Availability: Out of print collector's item. Very hard to find.
