Kier-leidoscope

Udo Kier has his own website? Uh… well yea, now that I think about it – of course he does! I literally spent two hours pouring over the entire thing. The very thorough filmography is highly informative, and the photo gallery is priceless. The list of interviews, spanning back to 1982, is great (about half are in english). Be sure to check out the links section – which points towards other obsessed-with Udo Kier sites (this one in particular, which has an even more endless-er omnibus of articles, pictures, interviews, clips and ephemera).

What I’ve seen of him I do like. He’s like a calmed down Klaus Kinski. Wasn’t Udo that old guy who picked up River and Keanu in My Own Private Idaho? I saw him much younger in Suspiria. Back then he looked like the kind of gay guy that got mud slides.
funny, i just found udo’s site a few month’s back. huuuuge fan of his, esp. his work on andy warhol’s frankenstein and dracula films. he’s great in everything he does… my fave lines from him…. “any friend of helena’s is a friend of mine” in my own private idaho and, of course “to know life, you have to fuck life in the gallbladder” from dracula
