   Ahem, Mark? This was your cue to post a Bruce Vilanch photo.

   Then those of us with self-esteem issues could smile sagely and say things like “Ahh, the candle that burns twice as hot lasts half as long.”
   Or maybe “There’s nothing that keeps its youth,
   So far as I know, but a tree and truth.”

   At which point we would all tip our hats to the glory of misspent youth, and shuffle off to our beds with visions of Montgomery Clift in his prime consoling our mind’s eye, while the strains of Alphaville’s “Forever Young” conducts our decrepit souls into sentimental slumber.

   Damn your flat stomach, twinkling eyes and perfect skin.
   Damn them, I say!
