I was going to write “Oh great, now I’ll never get any sleep!” But honestly, who am I kidding? Strange, creepy men hiding in my walls undetected for three days and spying on me, no matter what affectation they possessed (however criminal), would be welcome at this Autumn stage of my waning love life. At least I wouldn’t be alone.
Sincerely,
Mr. Nose
This is so like the mid 70’s movie starring Robbie Benson. I think it was called Jeremy or something. Anyway he lives in the walls of a house totally hidden from the homeowners. i have to go see if I can find it on youtube.
Mike O. - you’re right! But the film you are thinking of is “Bad Ronald from 1974, and stars Scott Jacoby as the boy who lives inside a crawlspace inside a family’s home, with them unaware (can’t remember exactly how he got there in the first place), and has the obsessive crush on the young girl in the family and goes crazier and crazier. The movie you mentioned, “Jeremy, is another 70’s teen story that’s plot has nothing to do with that. I saw a video copy of “Bad Ronald after I heard about it and had to see it immediatley. The actual film? It’s good, more plain-odd than real-creepy, and more “After School Special than Polanski - but worth looking into if the idea of it entices you.
Thanks for the correction! I remember seeing it when I was a young boy. Not sure why I thought Robbie Benson was in it (I must have had a crush on him back then). I remember being really creeped out by it though and thought that people were living in the walls of our house for several weeks after seeing it.
I wish there was a cable network that would replay some of those “afterschool special” type movies 24-7 like “Sarah T Portrait of an Alcoholic” starring Linda Blair or the Merideth Baxter-Birney classic, “Kate’s Secret”. Until then I will just keep watching my Stangers w/ Candy dvds.
